- Completing the responsible person questionnaire (Form 23) if transferring to a trust or corporation
- Paying the required transfer tax, typically a $200 tax stamp per NFA item

It’s important to note that the long-standing $200 NFA transfer tax stamp is scheduled to be eliminated beginning January 1, 2026, marking a significant change in the regulatory landscape for NFA items.
